Financial Policies

  FOUNDATIONAL PHILOSOPHY

The doctors and staff at Grand Coulee Veterinary Clinic are in practice to provide a high quality of veterinary care for our patients, to provide an exemplary level of quality in our doctor/client relationships, and to live out, on the professional and business levels, the values that direct our personal lives. We consider it reasonable (as well as essential) that we be paid promptly and fully for our services so we can continue to deliver the level of service we have committed ourselves to and so that we may continue to function as a successful small business. We are not a financial institution and cannot extend credit of any nature. For those reasons we have set forth the following financial policies for our office. 

1.    ALL ROUTINE/ELECTIVE SERVICES AND INVENTORY ITEMS MUST BE PAID AT THE TIME OF SERVICE. 

This includes, but is not limited to, immunizations, grooming, lab work, routine surgeries such as spays and neuters, boarding, pet food, over the counter items, pet supplies, and office calls.  We accept cash, personal check, VISA, MasterCard, Discover Card, and CareCredit.  All professional service fees and prescriptions must be paid in full at the time the pet is dismissed from the hospital.      

2.    A MINIMUM OF 50% OF THE ESTIMATE IS REQUIRED AS A DEPOSIT AT THE TIME OF ADMISSION FOR ALL MAJOR SURGERY / HOSPITALIZATION.  

Treatment will not proceed until this deposit has been received.    

3.    HELD CHECKS 

For the convenience of our clients who seek to provide for their pet companion's health and comfort, the clinic will accept post-dated/held checks but only if all other payment options are exhausted. The check(s) must be dated for the date you request it to be deposited.  Our policy is as such: one half (1/2) of the total bill must be paid on the day service is provided and before the pet is discharged.  The balance may be divided into three (3) equal payments with the first check being deposited within 30 days of the date of service.  The total balance must be paid within 90 days of the date of service.  There is a $4/month or 18% MPR SERVICE CHARGE (whichever is of the two is greater) after the first 30-day period.  There will be a $28 accounting/service fee for EACH check dishonored by the client's bank. 

4.    Collections Services 

All accounts that are 60 days past due will receive a warning letter regarding their delinquency.  If contact regarding the account and/or payment on the account is not received by the next statement cycle the account will be turned to Central Bonded Collectors of Moses Lake.   

5.    FINANCIAL POLICY PREVENTS THE ESTABLISHMENT OF ANY NEW CHARGE ACCOUNTS.
